iTunes App Store to Add Keywords?

It took me several years but I finally joined the iPhone bandwagon (with bells on of course).  I love the device but after trying to search for a few popular apps out there I realized iTunes leaves much to be desired.

With 50,000 apps and a search function that reminds me of AltaVista it’s not surprising that Gizmodo picked up on a request from Apple to all app developers:

“It is important to enter keywords for all applications as soon as possible so your application can continue to be successfully located on the App Store. Keywords can be updated with the submission of a new binary.”

Sounds like a good start but what stops developers from gaming the system by using keywords that don’t really relate to their app?  It’s YouTube all over again (aren’t they owned by a search company?).

Why not let users add keywords instead of just the developers?  Maybe that’s their next step but in either case I suppose it’s a good start.

I’m still waiting for the day when I can find an app based on multiple search criteria such as “free”, “with at least 3 stars” and “No Beer Apps”.

I’ll cross my fingers.

So the other night we had our first thunderstorm in about a year. I don’t think i’ve ever seen a skyline like this before. Vancouver continues to amaze me.

Slow Cow Anti-Energy Drink -

It’s one of those products that slaps you in the forehead when you see it.  So obvious and marketable you wonder why you didn’t think of it yourself.  Neverltheless it was a great idea by Couche-Tard to develop a line of anti-energy drinks for those wound up individuals out there.

Slow Cow Drink

Let’s hope it doesn’t taste like a cross between milk and Red Bull.
